Where’s the BEEF?!?

It’s been a wild summer so far. The demand for grass-finished beef has caught us a little bit off guard and the last few months we have struggled to keep up! I keep hearing “that’s a good thing” but I always like to have plenty of product on hand and right now for the first time the beef freezers are empty!! It kind of stresses me out 😬

I’m so glad people are becoming aware of the fragility of our food system and they’re turning to their local farmers to source their food from instead of relying on the unknown practices and corruption that’s behind some of those grocery store items. We’re doing our best to keep up with demand, but it takes about 30 months for us to finish our grass-finished beef and that means we’re planning 30 months in advance… so we may have a few gaps in production here until spring rolls around, so I’ll try to keep everyone updated on our current beef status.

We will be restocked on 9/18. I do anticipate us to be without beef products sporadically in these upcoming winter months, so if you’d like to make sure you get your favorite beef cuts, please reach out and get on the list. I cannot do any bulk ground beef or bundles for the time being, but hopefully, we’ll be able to offer that again in the spring when we get caught up a bit.

On the bright side - for all you chicken and pork lovers - we are well stocked on those items. We’ll continue to bring sausage, chops, breasts, thighs, wholes, etc. to Chevy Chase, Lexington, & Scott County Farmers’ Markets, and you can always pre-order and pick up right here from the farm.

Thanks for all your patience and continual support for our farming endeavors - we’ll have beef back soon!
