It’s August, but I’m thinking about Thanksgiving 🍂

We’ve been a little silent here lately - across all platforms - Facebook, Instagram, and newsletter/updates - but summers are extremely busy, and it’s just the two of us, Jeremiah and myself, keeping all things going on the farm. Every once in a while I’ll find time to throw a photo up and a quick blurb on social media, but unfortunately, it’s not a high priority for me, at least until the season winds down.

However, I’m going to take a minute here at my kitchen counter, while enjoying the AC, to talk Thanksgiving turkeys. Several of you have already reached out by text or email asking about reserving a turkey for this year! So this weekend we’ll start taking reservations for Thanksgiving birds at the market. We sold out quite early last year, so we bumped it up and are raising about double the turkeys we did last year! We already have some out on pasture, and we’ve got another batch of day-old poults that should be arriving Monday. With the two batches, we should have more flexibility in desired weights, with a fair amount of smaller-sized birds or larger 20+ lbs. for bigger gatherings. Early bird gets the worm, or so they say, so please reserve sooner rather than later. I hated turning people away last year because we were sold out ☹️

Turkeys will be the same price as they were last year, and like our chickens, they are raised with stewardship in mind - on clean pastures, not confined in poultry houses, no medicated feed or vaccines, non-GMO supplemental feed - clean, healthy birds. That’s exactly how we got started on this journey; I wanted to make sure I was consuming ethically minded, clean, organically raised food, so I started raising it!
